Position Summary
The Inventory & Transportation Coordinator is responsible for managing the facility's inventory of non-medication supplies and safely transporting medically fragile pediatric residents to and from medical appointments, diagnostic testing, therapeutic services, and other authorized destinations. This position helps ensure the facility maintains appropriate inventory levels while providing safe, reliable, and compassionate transportation services that support quality resident care.

Essential Functions
Inventory Management
- Maintain inventory of non-medication medical, clinical, housekeeping, dietary, and office supplies;
- Monitor inventory levels and identify items requiring replenishment;
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments for accuracy and completeness;
- Organize storage areas to ensure supplies are properly labeled, rotated, and readily accessible;
- Distribute supplies to departments in accordance with established procedures;
- Maintain inventory records and assist with routine inventory counts and reconciliation;
- Identify damaged, expired, or obsolete supplies and coordinate their removal;
- Assist with maintaining appropriate emergency supply inventories;
- Communicate inventory shortages or supply concerns promptly to leadership;
- Assist with vendor deliveries and stocking as assigned.
Resident Transportation
- Safely transport pediatric residents to physician appointments, specialty clinics, hospitals, diagnostic testing, therapeutic services, and other approved destinations;
- Ensure residents are transported using appropriate safety equipment, including wheelchairs, adaptive seating, and vehicle restraints when applicable;
- Verify transportation schedules and coordinate with clinical staff before departure;
- Maintain appropriate communication with clinical staff regarding resident status before and after transportation;
- Ensure all required resident documentation accompanies each transport;
- Operate facility vehicles safely and in compliance with all applicable traffic laws and facility policies;
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections;
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and report maintenance concerns promptly;
- Respond appropriately to emergencies during transport consistent with training and facility policy.
Resident Care & Customer Service
- Treat residents, families, visitors, and staff with professionalism, compassion, and respect;
- Maintain resident dignity, privacy, and confidentiality;
- Recognize and promptly report changes in resident condition to clinical staff;
- Support a safe, family-centered pediatric care environment.
Documentation & Compliance
- Complete transportation logs and other required documentation accurately and timely;
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, CMS, state regulations, and facility policies;
- Performs duties in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations governing healthcare facilities, as well as facility policies, procedures, and clinical operations manuals;
- Assist with survey readiness activities related to inventory and transportation;
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required;
Certification / Licensure
- Active Nevada phlebotomy certification;
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification including infant, child, and adult CPR, AED use, and choking rescue.
Experience
- Experience in infection prevention, healthcare epidemiology, skilled nursing, long-term care, or healthcare support preferred;
- Knowledge of basic infection prevention principles and standard precautions.

Technical Skills
- Basic computer and mobile device skills sufficient to use electronic medical records (EMR), scheduling systems, and other facility software applications.
Physical Requirements

- Frequent standing and walking throughout the shift (up to 12 hours);
- Frequent bending, kneeling, stooping, and reaching;
- Lift up to 50 pounds independently;
- Lift or move more than 100 pounds with assistance or mechanical equipment;
- Ability to assist with transferring or repositioning residents;
- Ability to respond quickly to resident needs or emergencies;
- Frequent repetitive motions;
- Ability to safely lift and transfer pediatric residents; stand and walk for extended periods; bend, kneel, squat, and reach frequently; respond quickly to emergencies; perform extended grooming tasks; perform laundry handling, stocking supplies, and cleaning equipment.
